Route: Oltari (950 m) - Mt. Lodge Zavižan (1594 m)  - Oltari

Atitude difference: ~650 m (altitude profile is here)

Starting and Ending point: Oltari (950 m) - (the village on the road Otočac - Švica - Krasno - Sv. Juraj)

Acent time: 6 h (Descent time 4,5 h)

Difficulties : very difficult because of winter conditions (138 cm of snow, officially)

Oneliner:  Real winter ascent to Zavižan - there was about one meter of snow along the whole trail. We fulfilled the promise given to ourselves at the previous ascent to Zavižan (Winter Ascent to Zavižan in December 13-14, 2014) - "We shall return - in winter conditions".

Route:

  • Zavižan - Rossi' Cabbi - Alan
  • Alan - Ograđenica - Šatorina - Kuga's house
  • Kuga's hHouse - Skorpovac - Bačića kosa - Oštarije

Duration: 3 days

Difficulty: easy signed trail.  Not too easy because of the long sections, karst terrain and the lack of watter

Tagline:  During the HPD Zrin Summer Camp 2013, 5 hikers (Anica, Ljilja, Nada, Šuco and Dražen) passed the entire Premužić Mountain Trail, from Zavižan to Oštarije. It is our humble contribution to the 80 years of the trail celebration.

Destination: Bojin Kuk (Boja's Cliff - 1110 m) and other cliffs of the Bojinac Group

Beginning: Veliko Rujno (village near Starigrad)

End: the same as starting point

Duration: About 4 h of walking

Difficulties: Medium difficult (due to little rock climbing) signed trail

Altitude difference: about 200 m

Attractiveness:  *** (from ***)

Tagline:

  • The traditional summer trip with meeting at Prpa Mountain Hut and visiting Bojinac - beautiful cliff with great view toward the sea and Veliko Rujno valley

Destination: Mt. lodge Zavižan (1594 m)

Difficulty: difficult, due to winter conditions.

Altitude difference:  650 m

Starting and ending point: Mt Hut Oltari (on the road Sv. Juraj - Krasno - Otočac)

Tagline:

  • Three musketeers (Zoran, Saša and Dražen) on three meters of snow at Zavižan. It was one of the easiest winter ascents to Zavižan thanks to very hard snow, passable without snowshoes and crampons. Amazing weather and  a lot of snow give us a lot of motives for photographing. One curiosity..  one of the hiking trips when we saw the dolphins (of course, in the sea close to Sv. Juraj),

Date: July 10-12, 2009

Destination: SE Velebit - Crnopac - Little Prince Trail

Beginning: Parking near Prezid  (about 1000 m)

End: Parking near Prezid  (about 1000 m)

Duration: About 6 hours of walking

Difficulty: Difficult, but very interesting signed trail

Altitude difference: 200 m* (see altitude profile)

Attractiveness:  *** (of ***)

Tagline(s):

  • At this trail the time actually is ceasing to exist, because the beauty of landscapes totally occupies you and you forget everything else." says Slavko Tomerlin - Tatek, explorer of that part of Mt Velebit and the author of the trails.
  • Therefore, the selected route - Little Prince Trail is certainly more interesting than difficult, although it requires a climber's craft
  • Velebit at SummitPost created very good description of Crnopac (including Little Prince trail) with nice photos
  • Traditionally, we would gathered at Prpa mountain lodge, on Friday evening to prepare common dinner and to socialize. Early in the Saturday morning we will go to Prezid pass and walk to Tatek's shelter at Crnopac and to Little Prince Trail. On Sunday... a little hiking trip and bathing in the sea.
